 K2 direct detection Camera

K2™ is the direct detection camera that counts! With full-frame (4k x 4k pixels) read-out at 400 frames per second, K2 architecture has been designed from the start to be optimized for both cryo-tomography as well as high-speed dynamic and in-situ EM. The uniquely back-thinned sensor is the most radiation-hardened sensor available today, with a lifetime greater than 5 billion electrons per pixel, leveraging the design and manufacturing experience of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.  Multiscan Family

Redefining high-performance imaging systems, Gatan created a family of fiber-optical coupled cameras that rose above the ordinary level of performance. These are the Multiscan models.  The MSC 600W  camera was designed for general life science applications while the MSC 600HP was designed for general materials science applications and biological applications such as molecular structural biology that demand sub-nanometer image resolution.  Click on the links below for more details about each model.

 Ultrascan™ Family

The UltraScan™ family is the first digital camera system that could signal the end of the use of film as a recording medium in the TEM. The critical component of the UltraScan family is the High-Contrast Resolution (HCR™) optical stack technology combining an innovative high resolution scintillator and unique fiber optic technology. Combined with the power of state-of-the-art CCD electronics with high-speed multi-port readout (First Light™), the UltraScan family defines a new reference standard for TEM imaging systems.

New for this year, the Model 994 UltraScan® 1000XP replaces the highly acclaimed UltraScan® 1000 camera line.  A new class in itself, the US1000XP seamlessly blends in a single camera the ultimate image quality from the UltraScan series with the highest speed from the Orius series, opening up extraordinary possibilities in applications ranging from sub-Angstrom HREM to in-situ TEM, from electron diffraction to low dose cryoEM.  Designed to be a reliable workhorse for years to come, the US1000XP is equally well suited for use by novices and experts, from the most routine to the most demanding EM investigations.

The UltraScan family is available in 4 Megapixel, 16 Megapixel  and  the new 111 Megapixel, formats.  Click on the links below for more details about each model.
